2007 Motorcops.com National Training and Skills Championship

On August 22-25, 2007 police motorcycle officers will converge on Frisco, TX to vie for the National Championship Title. The 2007 Motorcops.com National Training and Skills Championship, hosted by the Frisco Police Department, will be held at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX with over 100 motor officers (so far) from coast to coast battling it out for the National Title. There is no admission charge and there will be food, vendors and fun for everyone.

The purpose of the event is to provide motorcycle officers with a training environment to advance their skill of motorcycle operation, further their knowledge through classroom instruction and determine a national individual and team champion through competition.

This is the first training and skills event to bring motor officers from all parts of the country to determine a National Champion. The police motorcycle officers will be required to maneuver their motorcycle through a series of cone patterns and obstacles to show proficiency and skill of operation.

While there will be awards for the top riders in each division - Harley-Davidson, BMW, Kawasaki and other - a lot of the competition will be focused to see what agency has the highest level of overall proficiency. Departments are encouraged to send their motorcops to compete for the first National Championship title.

The National Championship will also serve as a fundraiser for police oriented charities. Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc (COPS) from Camdenton, MO provides assistance to families of fallen officers on a national scope and they will receive 75% of the net proceeds. The remaining portion will be used at various local levels to assist individual motorcycle police officers.

The city of Frisco (just a few miles north of Dallas) will be an excellent location in north Texas. It is centrally located to make it easy for agencies to send units from the east and west - north and south. The central location also makes it perfect for motorcycle riders to make a "run" and come see the officers compete for the National Championship.

Additional support is being provided by motor officers from the Coppell Police Department, Plano Police Department, McKinney Police Department, Grand Prairie Police Department and Collin County Sheriff's Office.
