Frequently Asked Questions
1. How can I get my department listed in the Agency section?
Currently, only those departments that have completed the Police Motorcycle
Safety Survey are listed.
2. My department would like to be in the next calendar. What do we have to do to be included?
I am not sure that I will do a 2010 Calendar as I am working on The
Big Police Photo Book. However, I have gotten many requests to
do some form of Calendar for 2010, so send me an email and I can keep
you posted.
3. I saw my photo on your site, can I order a copy?
Yes, you can order prints of nearly
every photo on the site, except ones in the contributor gallery. If you don't see your photo from the above link, let me know.
4. Do you have multiple Motorcops.com photographers?
No, I am the only photographer at police motorcycle competitions (rodeos) and some special events taking pictures on behalf of Motorcops.com or MK Media, LLC. If you hear of someone representing themselves as a photographer or representative for Motorcops.com, please let me know.
5. I ordered the wrong size shirt. What can I do? As long as the shirt has not been worn, you can send it back and exchange it for the correct size. Send an email and let me know you're sending back a shirt. Then, send the shirt back to the address above and include $5 for return priority mail postage.
6. Our department needs an updated photo. Can you help us out?
I am available to do individual "portrait" style photos of officers
as well as group photos. For anyone within about 3 hours of Dallas,
TX, I charge only $20 per officer as a "sitting fee" to cover time
and editing of the photos. Each portrait session will net dozens of
photos - on the motorcycle, off the motor, helmet on, helmet off and
some action shots. The photos taken will be uploaded
to the website where officers can purchase any prints. Departments
that are further away, or would like a complete set of departmental
photos, email me.
7. I bought the photo CD from a rodeo I was in. Can I take the photo CD to a photo lab and order prints?
No. The photos on the CD are copyrighted and respectable labs will
not allow you to purchase prints of copyrighted work without a release.
I do make the photos available for purchase through the web site.
You can order prints of any photo
here.
8. Sometimes when I visit the site, the header is all in gray. Why? Whenever I hear that a motor officer has been killed in the line of duty, to honor their service and as a tribute to the family and department, I turn the header of the site to gray until the night of the officer's funeral.
9. I think I saw a photo of me out on the internet. Is it one that you took?
I do license my photos from
time to time to reputable businesses and organizations. I have encountered times where one of my photographs has been used illegally and I have taken action to protect my copyright. With many people taking photos at skills competitions and sometimes within close proximity to one another, occasionally the photos may look similar. If you see a photo online that you think is one of mine, please let me know and I can tell you if the use is legitimate.
10. You do a great job with the web site. I have often wondered if you could use some help.
Thank you for the kind words. If you know some basic HTML and have Photoshop and wanted to donate some time, I sure could use some help. I've had people contribute photos that I have been unable to get online. And I want to expand the "In Memoriam" section to include all motor officers, but just don't have the time to do that research. If you've got a couple hours a week, please let me know.
