CHP officer hit, dragged by out-of-control truck on I-15 - San Diego, CA
A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer was injured Tuesday morning on Interstate 15 after being hit and dragged by an out-of-control pickup in an accident that closed both directions of the freeway for nearly two hours.
The motorcycle officer and another officer driving a patrol car were parked in the median just south of Interstate 8 at 8:55 a.m., said CHP Officer Brad Baehr. They had been gathering information about an earlier solo non-injury crash involving a 2005 Chrysler Sebring that hit the median on the north side of the freeway.

Baehr said the truck hit the median and then grazed the side of the unoccupied patrol car before slamming into the officer's BMW motorcycle and subsequently striking him. The motorcycle was pushed about 50 feet and came to rest on its left side.
The motorcycle officer, a 12-year CHP veteran, was caught under the truck and dragged before the Toyota came to a stop in the center median. Officers on the scene and motorists freed him from underneath the truck, Baehr said. Baehr said that the officer, whose name was not released, “took a good hit.” He was listed in good condition by the hospital late Tuesday afternoon....
