Officer in Palin motorcade injured - St. Louis, MO
A St. Louis police officer in the motorcade escorting Sarah Palin to the airport has been injured in an accident.
The incident occurred Friday morning near the airport. The officer's name was not released. Police say the injuries are not life-threatening.
Police spokeswoman Erica Van Ross says the officer was on a motorcycle when it struck another officer's motorcycle. The second officer was not hurt. The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
The officer hurt his back and leg.
Palin was in St. Louis for the vice presidential debate with Democrat Joe Biden on Thursday.

Motorcycle Officers Get Ready For Intense Training - Corpus Christi, TX
Corpus Christi motorcycle police will be receiving specialized motorcycle training at Whataburger Field over the next several weeks.
The training has been set in place to help take the officers' riding skills to the next level of intensity.
A very difficult obstacle course has been set for three Corpus Christi motorcycle officers who are training to be instructors. They hope to take their skills back to CCPD to train the 25 other officers and escort officers.
Northwestern University instructors are also helping the officers with bike skills that are faster and tighter.
"Police motorcycles have to get into alleys, or they [have to] get into areas where they need to be able to maneuver that motorcycle quickly and in an a confined spot," instructor Gary Dekinder said.
Next week, more than a dozen students from CCPD, Ohio, New Mexico and other Texas police departments will be in Corpus Christi for basic motorcycle operating skills.

Part of Interstate 35 frontage closed after officer injured in accident - Austin, TX
A motorcycle officer was hospitalized this morning after he was involved in a collision on southbound frontage road of Interstate 35 near Anderson Lane and U.S. 183, according to Austin police spokesman Sgt. Richard Stresing.
Part of the frontage road has been shut down while officials clear the scene, Stresing said.
The accident happened around 8:45 a.m. in front of the Red Roof Inn, according to police

WVa police officer struck by pickup truck - Charleston, WV
A Huntington police officer who was helping escort the Marshall football team to a game suffered minor injuries when his motorcycle was hit by a pickup truck.
The accident happened at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Route 60 in Barboursville.
Officer Scott Hudson was treated at Cabell Huntington Hospital and released.
The driver of the pickup truck, Joseph Keesee Sr., was arrested on charges including drunken driving causing injury and driving on a suspended license.

Motorcycle cop in crash released from hospital - Tukwila, WA
The Tukwila motorcycle cop who was hurt in a traffic accident Tuesday has been released from the hospital.
"He will be sore," Tukwila police spokesman Mike Murphy said. "But his injuries are minor."
Around 7:15 a.m., the motorcycle cop was dispatched to a serious traffic accident on Interurban Avenue South at Gateway Drive, police reported. The accident involving the officer remains under investigation, but all roads and ramps in the area were opened about noon.

Motorcycle officer recovering after crash with a car - Baton Rouge, LA
A Baton Rouge police officer is recovering after an afternoon wreck.
Police say a vehicle pulled out in front of the officer's motorcycle at Mayflower and Beauregard.
